Two thoughts. One is that we should start a massive campaign to ban supermarkets in order to revive small local food shops. Which wouldn't work because people are addicted to supermarkets, of course, and now councils are bringing in massive parking fees for local shopping street car parks the complete demise of high streets is all but guaranteed. Which is what they want, presumably. Because banning supermarkets would probably solve the whole 'our neighbourhoods are unliveable and we need to ban cars to make them nice again' thing, but it's just not about helping local businesses to thrive...

And two, I recently heard that the M32 was built on some of the most fertile land in Bristol. Oh, so that's why they built it... Not to improve travel to the city centre, which they are throwing everything at now to prevent, but to take away food security... Sigh.

Very important observations and points! Makes me worried about old age if a lidl doesn't get built near me.
